Topic: no power on sequia

Dear Toddy,
We pressed power switch, and the unit did no response.
one week ago , the error symptom had happened , we turn off rear power sitch then turn, the system normally power on .
but now, the unit shouild got some problem,
We check the swich and PIC connector , they should be good.
I guess main power should be broken.
How do you thnk ? please give us some suggestion.
the sequioa main power parts number is MDI 26523

Re: no power on sequia

Tom, you never want to switch the power off from the back of the system. The system has a reset button that is in approximately the same spot as the reset button on the Aspen. If you have a Sequoia that freezes up, press the reset button.

As for what's happening now... is the system plugged into a voltage converter? Or was the unit switched from 115v to 230v on the fan tray assembly? Have you verified that the power from the wall is producing enough consistent voltage to allow the system to operate? Have you checked the power cable to see if it is damaged?

I'm not sure I understand when you say the switch and PIC connector. Are you referring to the power-on switch in the front?

Check those other things I suggested and let me know. Just want to make sure its not something easy, instead of having to replace a part.

Re: no power on sequia

Dear Todd,
We check the front power switch , cable , wall voltage (115V), they look like good.
No fan , no anything comes up when we turn on the unit.
Could you suggest us to check more ?
Best Regards
Tom

Re: no power on sequia

On the Main power supply there should be a V Standby J13 test pin. If that reads +5v when it is plugged in, then it may be the fan assembly. If you don't have any voltage on it, then it's probably the MDI Power supply.

We have a few that we can send you if you wanted to try replacing that. I will need an exchange/bad power supply in return though.

Dear  Todd,
I will try it , if the MDI is bad, I will suggest the user to replace.
Thank you very much.
