Topic: Unplugged unit's time not advancing

Hello Todd,
I had previously called regarding the title-mentioned problem.  The time freezes to the time when the unit was unplugged.  When a tech wants to use the machine, they have to reset the time. I checked out the 3V battery on the SVC2 board and it's perfect.  Is there another battery that would govern some sort of timekeeper module?

Not that I know of. I seem to remember there being a physical chip that controls the date/time generation. It should be labeled "Watchdog" on it, right next to the serialized eprom. Here's a link to the spec sheet on MAXIM's website: http://www.maxim-ic.com/datasheet/index.mvp/id/2678http://www.maxim-ic.com/datasheet/index.mvp/id/2678

Looks like its an obsolete item, but I have a few spare. I can pull one and try sending it to you, see if that fixes the issue. Would that work?
