Topic: Customer Service Rep Menu

Or CSR Menu for short.

This is where you'll find all the necessary items for backing up and restoring data. Namely checking the Version Report, Configuration Report, Encryption Strings and Backing Up Presets to MO Disk.

To access the menu you will need to press a series of buttons. One of these buttons is semi-complicated to find, and can be found by looking at the picture below (will be added as soon as I can get to a machine with a camera). This is known as the "Test" button.

For the 6.0 and Higher systems: "Code" and "V" need to be held down while pressing the "Test" key to bring up the CSR menu.

For the 4.0 and Lower systems: "Code", "Shift", and "V" need to be held down while pressing the "Test" key to bring up the CSR menu.

You can also access the AEGIS configuration (turn it to networked if you want to use DICOM), the DICOM Configuration for connecting to a PACS system, or a DICOM network, as well as DICOM printing. But you need the corresponding DICOM Print/Store options licensed in the Aspen to use these features. The Network Configuration menu is where you go to set up the Aspens basic IP information and connect to the Perspective PC (3D surface rendering PC), which also relies upon licensing to run.

Re: Customer Service Rep Menu

i have an aspen with me, while switched on the machine monitor shows SCP-02 power up error?machine boot properly but monitor remains blank, and machine hanged. what are the possibilities?

Re: Customer Service Rep Menu

SCP 02 usually refers to anything that prevents the scanner from communicating with the scan converter.

To put it in more plain terms: the left side of the system facing the monitor is the Scanner. The right side of the system facing the monitor is the Scan Converter. The scanner transmits and receives information through the transducer, and the scan converter puts the data into a viewable format.

The main thing I've run into with the SCP 02 error is the Main Power Supply, or MDI as we call it. On the back of the Aspen is a door that can be swung outwards, behind the door is a small rectangular display; if there is a number displayed when you turn the system on (it should flash a 1, and then go to a red dot, which means normal power up) please note the number and post it here.

Other possibilities include: ZSCP, IOB2, the scanner analog cable, STG5, or any of the XMT's could be having a power failure issue, and are dragging the system down causing a boot up error.

The system is able to power on with a minimum configuration of boards in it, which is probably the easiest way to troubleshoot any internal errors. I can instruct you further on this, but first lets see if there are any power supply errors.

Re: Customer Service Rep Menu

thanks todd, but when i try 2 get machine on no powerup error displayed, back side of the machine(seven segment display).i think i should replace the power supply first according to ur suggestion and then check.

Re: Customer Service Rep Menu

An alternative to replacing the power supply is having it repaired.

There's a company in Irvine, CA called Siress Enterprises (http://www.siress.com/) that repairs the Aspen's Main Power Supply for a relatively cheap amount compared to buying a replacement.

We use the company for repairing ours, they include a warranty on all repairs, and their turnaround time is good -- 4 or 5 business days. If you go that route can you mention that Todd at Universal Diagnostic Solutions recommended you? I like to promote their business because it goes hand in hand with keeping us in business.

Re: Customer Service Rep Menu

Hi Todd:

This is winston again. Thank you for your advice for the dicom. Could you post a brief instruction  regarding how to back up data from asepn to Window XP laptop?
This is will save a lot of floppy disk for saving data into a laptop instead of floppy disk.
Thanks.
Winston

Re: Customer Service Rep Menu

Backing up to a PC isn't the simplest of things to do with the Aspen. I'll set up a new topic and post what I know, and what has worked for us in the past.

Re: Customer Service Rep Menu

It's possible that you have lost your encryption strings. Please follow the information in the post at the top of the page to access your Configuration Report page and see if it says something like "Illegal Configuration".
