Topic: ATL UM9 HDI Illegal scanhead

Hi, I have an ATL Ultramark 9 HDI and recently purchased two probes a phase and annular array's, but when I plugged on it, the monitor displays "Illegal scanhead, please reselect" so, I want to know, if could do anything to fix it, because I need the probes

Please help me, any info will be very important.

Re: ATL UM9 HDI Illegal scanhead

I'll have to do some digging on this, it's been about 7 years since I worked on a UM9 HDI, and I honestly can't remember how they handled the licensing of probes.

Could you get me the exact probe names? I can cross-reference compatibility and get you some more information. Or the probes could have issues with the connectors, could try cleaning the pins off with a contact cleaner?

Re: ATL UM9 HDI Illegal scanhead

The transducer are A6-3 and CL10-5, and I have a P7-4 that works pretty fine

Please, Todd, any info will be really usefull

Re: ATL UM9 HDI Illegal scanhead

A6-3 is a mechanical style transducer. There needs to be a "Motor Controller" board installed in your UM9 HDI for it to run this transducer. The part number for the board is : 7500-0617.

As for the CL10-5 I'm having a hard time finding any sort of probe compatibility listings, but it may just not work on the UM9 HDI. If I can find any other information on it I'll post it.

Re: ATL UM9 HDI Illegal scanhead

Thanks a lot Todd, let me look if the equipment has such board. With this board the probe will be accept it?

Any info wil be appeciated

Re: ATL UM9 HDI Illegal scanhead

Any luck with checking to see if your HDI has the motor controller board? I was also speaking with an ex-ATL ultrasound tech and he feels that the CL10-5 is not compatible with the UM9 HDI system.

Re: ATL UM9 HDI Illegal scanhead

The equipment has the motor controller board. I bought and service manual for the ATL UM9 HDI and in the compatibility list shows the CL10-5 but requieres an ESP system, but I don't know what that is.

Searching trough the net I found the way to access to the configuration menu, but requieres a password to modify the options, I guess that could solve the issue

I'm really lost

Re: ATL UM9 HDI Illegal scanhead

Hi Todd, I hope the joy and the happines still with you this hollidays!

I'm still stuck with the UM9 and the illegal scanhead problem. The hard disk can be the problem? I don't know, like an all inclusive software, do you have something like that? If you have, give me a quote

Thanks a lot!
