Updated post - ATL HDI1000-keyboard stopped working

My original post: no keyboard buttons function. Does anyone have any thoughts as to the cause? When we freeze the screen, the roller ball works.

May 23rd update: last week we had the US serviced which fixed it for 2 days. He isn't really sure what he did to fix it. Took the cover off of the top (keyboard), unplugged everything (probes, etc) then plugged all back in. And it worked. two days later, a staf person set up the machine for the clinican. The clinician was changing the probe to Vaginal and the machine froze again. Same problem.

So, we think the problem is possibly:
intermittent?
a connection?
possdible related to the probes? The problem recurred when the probe was being changed and the only area of the machine that didn't freeze was the rollerball and the probes worked. no keys.
