I have a Cypress with the following symptoms: Regardless of probe, only a faint ultrasound image is present which does not change with gain control or STC. After selecting Color or PW mode - total loss of image. Suspect HV supply. Note - a loose screw had been rolling around this area and may have caused a short. I checked voltage coming into board - measured 5vdc. Any thoughts?
HELP!! I have my own mobile business and had a problem arise today following my last echo. I switched probes (to a 7L3) which I use for vascular work. It functioned just fine, as did the 3vcs probe I use for echo's earlier. When I plugged the 3V2C probe back in for a later study, I received a warning/notice that my Cypress couldn't find or recognize the probe. I have never had a problem with this probe or machine ever and the probe worked just fine 30 minutes earlier. I tried all of the usual troubleshooting procedures, cleaning, rebooting, etc.. The 7L3 probe works just fine. Does anyone have an idea about this issue? Any other troubleshooting procedures that I'm not aware of? I would greatly appreciate your help on this! Thanks so much!

Lynn,
I'll be consulting with another service engineer on this issue, but in the meantime can you let me know what you cleaned off exactly? I'm assuming the probe interconnect, namely the contacts on the board that plugs into the side.
Another possibility is software. Did your system come with any reload MO disks?
Please feel free to contact us on the office phone as well: 800-416-7567
Hello Lynn,
It sounds like your machine is experiencing either a software issue or the probe is not initializing because the PCB inside the transducer has failed or the transmit/receive board inside the Cypress has malfunctioned. I have attached a picture of the transducer port as well as the port on the Cypress. Please look over both areas very carefully as its very easy to bend or break a pin, which would prohibit the transducer from initializing.
