Topic: Cypress not starting up

Hi,
Our Acuson Cypress will not power on properly. The Acuson splash screen comes up but it hangs there. There is a series of beeps, perhaps they mean something? The beeps are like this: 1 long, 1 short, 1 short, 2 fast, 1 short.
Can you help?

We are a mission hospital in rural Uganda. This unit was donated to us about a year ago and it has been a vital unit to have. We would really appreciate any help you can give.

Paul,

I've asked a technician who is more familiar with the Cypress than myself and his recommendation was to check the BIOS battery -- it should be a small nickel sized battery, usually 3.0 volt. To get access to it though.. you'll need to pull off the cosmetic panels.

I don't have one here to take pictures of though, so there isn't a whole lot I can do to walk you through it. The screws are mostly visible and removing the back panel just requires the top handle being unscrewed, as well as the screws that go around the monitor faceplate (on the back side). There will be some metal panels inside, once removed it should give you some visual access to the motherboard. Although.. I can't recall if the board behind the LCD monitor contains the battery or if it's on the one in the back.
